In most cases, when a dealer needs short term finance support, they use whatever resource available to them from their own existing pool of employees. This may be the most convenient, but in reality, its costing the dealership revenue from missed opportunities, "money left on the table." Statistics show that the right finance practitioner can increase revenue 60% per deal and with all the regulations that must be carried out in the finance office, its essential that whoever fills the role of the finance manager, be focused and intent on earning revenue in a fully compliant atmosphere.

Many dealers use their sales manager to fill in for a finance manager with the hopes that he or she will maintain current PVR levels in a fully compliant manner, but more often than not, even the sales manager with previous F&I experience has little desire to be in the business office for any more time than it takes to "clerk" a deal.
